After completing a full-body skin screening with us, some patients may wish to:

  1. keep a permanent photographic record of their visit to compare moles at home or review them with their health-care provider at their convenience, or
  2. obtain a full-body screening as a one-time “baseline map,” without ongoing regular screenings by a dermatologist.

We have good news.

Canfield’s AI-augmented IntelliStudio photographic system allows your images to be securely downloaded onto a USB flash drive, creating a permanent, password-protected medical record. This includes Canfield’s proprietary software, enabling you to view and compare your skin lesions at your leisure on your home computer (Windows or Mac).

Mole Mapping

MolePatrol® mole mapping with IntelliStudio uses advanced imaging technology to capture high-resolution photos of your skin, focusing on moles and lesions. These images are stored and compared during follow-up appointments, allowing dermatologists to track changes in size, shape, or colour. This helps identify early signs of skin cancer, such as melanoma, and detect any new moles or changes to existing ones. Mole mapping offers a non-invasive, accurate way to monitor skin health and improve the effectiveness of skin cancer screenings.

Dermoscopy

Dermoscopy is a non-invasive technique used by dermatologists to examine skin lesions and moles in detail. Using a dermatoscope, which combines magnification and light, doctors can closely inspect the skin’s surface and underlying layers. This helps identify patterns and irregularities that may indicate skin cancer, such as melanoma. The procedure is quick, painless, and allows for more accurate assessments, aiding in early detection and better treatment decisions.

Skin Exam

A full skin exam by a dermatologist is a thorough check for signs of skin cancer. The dermatologist will inspect your body for suspicious moles, lesions, or changes, focusing on irregularities in size, shape, colour, or texture that could indicate skin cancer, such as melanoma. The exam, combined with mole mapping and possibly dermoscopy, offers a comprehensive assessment. If any concerning areas are found, further testing or a biopsy may be recommended. The exam is quick, painless, and essential for maintaining skin health.
