What is MolePatrol®?

MolePatrol® is a comprehensive full-body mole mapping and skin screening service. We use IntelliStudio® high-resolution imaging and digital analysis to document moles and track changes over time, helping detect early signs of melanoma and other skin cancers.

Every full-body MolePatrol® appointment includes a full skin examination performed by a dermatologist.

How much does MolePatrol® cost?

A full-body Mole Mapping & Skin Cancer Screening visit is $250+HST

Do I need a referral for a MolePatrol®?

No referral needed — you can schedule your MolePatrol® screening directly.

Is MolePatrol® covered by OHIP?

Mole mapping and preventive skin screening are private services and are not covered by OHIP.

Some private health insurance plans may reimburse dermatologist-performed assessments — we recommend checking with your insurer.

How long does a MolePatrol® appointment take?

Plan for approximately 20 minutes for a full-body mole mapping and clinical skin check.

Who is MolePatrol® for?

MolePatrol® is ideal for people who:

  • Have many moles or atypical moles
  • Have personal or family history of skin cancer
  • Have fair skin or significant sun exposure
  • Want proactive tracking of their skin over time
  • Are looking for a preventive screening (not a replacement for medical care)

What happens during a MolePatrol® appointment?

We capture standardized full-body images using specialized cameras. These images are stored securely and used as a baseline for future comparison.

A dermatologist performs a thorough head-to-toe examination during the same visit.

What happens if a suspicious mole or lesion is found?

If the dermatologist identifies a mole or lesion that may be concerning for skin cancer:

  • The lesion will be examined in detail during your appointment.
  • The dermatologist will discuss next steps, which may include a biopsy performed within the clinic.

Early detection improves outcomes, so timely action is prioritized.

Who performs the MolePatrol® screening?

Your appointment includes:

  1. Imaging and mole mapping by a trained medical technician.
  2. Full clinical skin examination by a board-certified dermatologist

Is MolePatrol® mole mapping safe during pregnancy?

Yes! MolePatrol® uses only high-resolution photography. There is no radiation or laser, and the process is completely non-invasive and painless — safe for both you and your baby.
